Water safety is paramount!

Here, you can see Libby Ruddenklau modelling a Loose Unit Neoprene High Visibility life jacket. It’s an excellent life jacket designed for waterskiing, kayaking, and more.

Libby was concerned about water safety in and on the water. So she designed a science fair project and Hutchwilco New Zealand made the vest following her design.

“I was worried people could be killed in accidents on the water, some water sport vests had been made in dark colours, which were difficult to see in the water, I wanted to change the colours of the jackets”.

Libby called her project ‘BE SAFE BE SEEN‘. Using her research, she designed a high-visibility watersports vest. The vest was submitted to the New Zealand Water Safety Council’s inaugural water safety awards and won a merit award. We at Marine South have since manufactured the vests and they are available in our shop.
